Happy World Turtle Day. It was awesome at RPW today we learned all about turtles. I love rafikis I have learned so much about animals. Also before I came down here I was starting to lose focus because I was so caught up with how much I was struggling to do well in class I forgot the reasons I was studying so hard. By working around conservations, scientists, vets and animal keepers I am more inspired than ever. I can not wait to be the class of 2013 with a bachelors in biology and psychology!!!!
This was in the la times on March 19th 2012. A 10-year-old pilot whale arrived Monday at SeaWorld San Diego from Japan where it had been in a marine park since being stranded on a beach in 2004, SeaWorld officials announced Monday. Officials at the Japanese park felt it best for the whale, a male named Argo, to be sent someplace that has other pilot whales. SeaWorld San Diego has three: two females and a male. The 1,200-pound, 11-foot-long Argo was flown from Tokyo to San Diego in a cargo plane and then trucked to the park on Mission Bay. The whale will be kept in a behind-the-scenes pool and introduced to the other pilot whales in the next few days. No date has been set for when Argo will be introduced to the public. Argo had been at Kamogawa SeaWorld — no relation to the SeaWorld parks in the U.S. — since soon after being found stranded on the beach 10 miles northeast of Kamogawa. Attempts by the Japanese coast guard to ease the whale back into the ocean had failed when it was was found stranded in 2004. Because Argo has been in captivity, he is not considered a good risk to be returned to the ocean, SeaWorld San Diego officials said.
Operation Migration was hanging out at RPW today. They were walking around in this costume and it kinda freaked some people out when it was out of context.
I took this from someone else forget who
One thing I love about RPW is they have a library in the adjacent building filled with tons of books about animals. It is my dream library!

Message from Sea World San Diego: Hey Fans, let’s give a big SHOUT-OUT welcome to Argo the Pilot Whale. Argo was rescued after stranding on a beach in Japan more than 8 years ago. He was saved, rehabilitated and raised by the amazing folks at Kamogawa SeaWorld (no connection to our SeaWorld). As there are no other pilot whales a Kamogawa SeaWorld, they asked if we’d give him a permanent home and a chance to live with our pilot whales. Of course we said YES!!! Argo arrived this morning after a 9-hour flight from Japan (I want his frequent-flyer miles!). He’s doing great and is quickly acclimated to his new home at Dolphin Stadium!!!
